Film and Screenplay Submissions
NJFA accepts film and screenplay submissions through FilmFreeway, a third-party submission platform.
Submission requirements, eligibility requirements, deadlines, fees, judging procedures, and other competition-specific conditions are governed by the official NJFA Rules/Info and the applicable NJFA listing on FilmFreeway.
By submitting a project to NJFA, entrants agree to the rules and conditions applicable to that competition.
Information presented on this Website is intended to supplement our official competition information. In the event of a discrepancy concerning a particular submission, the rules and conditions applicable to the competition at the time the project was submitted will govern.
Submission Fees
Submission fees are associated with the review and consideration of a project in the applicable competition and do not guarantee selection, nomination, an award, screening, promotion, or any other particular outcome.
Submission fees and any applicable refund policies are governed by the terms presented at the time of submission and by the policies of the submission platform through which the transaction is processed.
Judging and Awards
All selections, nominations, and awards are determined according to NJFA’s judging process and competition rules.
Submission does not guarantee that a project will be selected as a finalist, nominated, receive an award, or otherwise be recognized by NJFA.
NJFA reserves the right to determine award recipients, withhold an award in a category when appropriate, resolve eligibility questions, and administer its competitions in accordance with its published rules.
Judging decisions are final.
Awards, Laurels, Certificates, and Recognition
Official NJFA laurels, certificates, award designations, and other forms of recognition are provided only to projects or individuals that have earned the applicable distinction.
Recipients may use official NJFA laurels and award references to promote the recognized project or achievement. NJFA trademarks, logos, laurels, certificates, and other branded materials may not be altered or used in a manner that falsely represents an award, nomination, selection, affiliation, endorsement, or relationship with NJFA.
Physical trophies or other optional award merchandise, when offered, may be subject to separate pricing, ordering, shipping, and eligibility requirements.
Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise indicated, the NJFA Website and its original content, design, graphics, logos, branding, award artwork, text, and other materials are owned by or licensed to New Jersey Film Awards and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Filmmaker and Entrant Content

Submission of a project to NJFA does not transfer ownership of the film, screenplay, or other submitted creative work to NJFA.
Any permissions granted to NJFA regarding project titles, still images, trailers, posters, excerpts, credits, filmmaker information, or other promotional materials are governed by the rules and permissions applicable to the submission.
Winner and Project Information
NJFA may publish information concerning participating or recognized projects as permitted by our competition rules and the information supplied in connection with a submission.
This may include project titles, filmmaker names, cast or crew names, posters, still images, trailers, award categories, finalist or nominee status, award results, and other information associated with a project’s participation in NJFA.
Third-Party Websites and Services
The Website may contain links to or embedded content from third-party services, including FilmFreeway, YouTube, and social media platforms.
These services are operated independently from NJFA. Your use of third-party websites and services is subject to their respective terms, policies, and privacy practices.
